Ferro Silicon Zirconium

Ferro Silicon Zirconium (FeSiZr) is a specialized ferroalloy composed of iron, silicon, and zirconium. It is primarily used in steel and cast iron production to enhance the mechanical properties of the metal, reduce impurities, and improve its machinability.

Specifications:
• Zirconium (Zr): 15% minimum
• Silicon (Si): 38% minimum

  • Description
  • Additional Information
  • Applications

Ferro Silicon Zirconium is produced by the direct reduction of zircon sands in electric arc furnaces at high temperatures. This alloy is used as a zirconium additive in steel melts, reacting with oxygen, nitrogen, and sulfur to improve steel quality.

  • Enhances strength, hardness, and resistance to corrosion in steel

  • Improves weldability and reduces porosity in steel

  • Acts as a deoxidizer and desulfurizer in steelmaking

  • Modifies non-metallic inclusions and fixes uncombined nitrogen in boron steels
